Secretary of State Hillary Clinton covers Conde Nast Traveler Magazine

Hillary Clinton is on the cover of this month’s Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in recognition of her becoming the most traveled Secretary of State. Sec. Clinton received this honor this past July after she embarked on a 13 day trip to Europe, Asia and the Middle East that amounted to over 27,000 miles. In the cover article entitled, “Nine Days with the Most Traveled Secretary of State in History, Conde Nast Traveler accompanied her to China, Bangladesh, and India.

When Sec. Clinton was asked to name her favorite place to visit, she offered up this tidbit.

“I’ll tell you a place! I’ve visited the emperor and empress of Japan several times. They are two of the loveliest people you will ever meet, and I am very fond of them. Each time, they have taken me into their private quarters for tea. It’s so calm. You sit in this minimalist Japanese room, looking out at the gardens—it’s so peaceful and restorative. I spend most of my time with the empress, who is one of my favorite people in the world. I’m always grateful after I’ve had the chance to be with them.”
